Oga Bello Celebrates “Baba Mero” After 42 Years of Demise

Veteran Actor Adebayo Salami popularly known as Oga Bello is no doubt one of the living legends in.the theatre industry in Nigeria. The veteran who serves as role model and mentor to many actors at today shower encomium on his Boss and Mentor in the theatre industry Late Ojo Ladipo Popularly known as “Baba Mero”.

According to Oga Bello,  he began his acting career with a group called “Young Concert Party” under the leadership of Ojo Ladipo, popularly known as Baba Mero. After a few years, the group changed its name to Ojo Ladipo Theatre Group, and later metamorphosed into Awada Kerikeri Theatre Group. Following the demise of Ojo Ladipo in 1978. Oga Bello took the mantle of leadership of the group after his demise.

Today 27th October marks the 42nd Anniversary of the demise of the theatre teacher “Baba Mero” -A man of impeccable creative excellence; a total thespian.
