Ebun Oloyede who is popularly known as Olaiya Igwe is an award winning Nigerian actor and movie producer who has been in the nollywood industry for more than 40years, he was born in Kenta, Oke-Ejigbo Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Olaiya is well known for his comical roles in Yoruba movies.
He is not only unique with his tribal marks, he is an amazing talent that has a carved a niche for himself in the movie industry.
Ebun Oloyede attended St. Judes primary school, Abeokuta and had his secondary school education at Premier Grammar School in Abeokuta. He studied Mass Communication at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta.
Oloyede was inspired to act after watching one of the films of the late Adeyemi Afolayan tutled “Maaramo”. It was like he has never watched a film star having tribal marks. He acted perfectly well without paying attention to the marks on his face. At that point, he decided to become a theater practitioner.
Olaiya Igwe as fondly called, started acting after joining Musbau Shodimu Theatre Organisation based in Abeokuta in the 1970s.
He has starred in numerous movies such as Ololade (Mr Money), Iru Esin, kosi tabi sugbon, Baale Oko ilu and son, Ololade Mr. Money was his block buster. Abela Pupa, Osan gangan, Ebute, Osuwon, Olugbekele, Okete, Pakute, Agbegilere, Ore-Ota Olorun. The veteran actor claims he uses his films to advise, caution, and sensitise our people to live perfect lives.
He also features in the popular Africa Magic television series Awon Aladun De.
He has got nominations such as City People Movie Award for Comic Actor of the Year (Yoruba).
He is a highly respected and well recognised as a man who knows his onions in Nollywood. Happy Birthday to a legend!
